CUSTOMER SERVICE / REPTILE SPECIALIST

Offering: Part-time / Full-time

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $22.00

Locations:

  • CALIFORNIA - Lodi, Elk Grove, Roseville, Modesto

  • TEXAS - Richardson

 

Role Description:

A Serpentarium Customer Service Rep, loves reptiles and is eager to share their excitement and passion. You're highly attentive to customers and genuinely want to make a positive difference in the world of reptile ownership by ensuring the optimal health of their pet(s). This is done by actively engaging with customers, asking the right questions, always providing honest and accurate information, and offering recommendations based on company standards.

 

After going through basic training, your first goal is to achieve Reptile Specialist status. A Serpentarium Reptile Specialist understands how, why, and when to recommend every product we offer for each species we offer. This goal will be accomplished through on-the-job training as well as self-directed learning.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain animal welfare by ensuring all feeding, watering, cleaning schedules are followed, and enclosures are set up correctly.

  • Maintain a clean and organized store appearance; sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.

  • Ensure every customer receives a positive and pleasant experience, every time.

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks on time.

  • Ensure all company policies and processes are followed.

  • Accept and inventory product/animal deliveries, noting any discrepancies in real-time.

  • Keep products stocked and faced with proper FIFO method (First-In, First-Out).

  • Actively engage in continued learning and development.

  • Promote a positive morale with customers and fellow employees.

  • Identify and address any and all hazards promptly (slip, trip, etc.).

  • Ensure proper animal handling - by you and cutstomers - by following company policy.

  • Prevent theft by be attentive to customers and aware of your surroundings.

  • Check store iPhone for texts, emails, and voice messages to maintain communication between stores and management, ensuring prompt responses.

  • You have strong people skills - you're approachable, a good listener, and empathetic to customer needs.

  • You are flexible with your schedule and understand that work hours are based on business needs.

  • You are able to work under pressure and keep up with customer demand during busy times.

  • You demonstrate good time management by planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks.

  • You have no problem handling Snakes, Lizards, Insects, or Rodents.

  • You have no problem using a register and taking and giving accurate payment (cash or credit).

  • You have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

  • You are capable of lifting up to 50 lbs without limitations.

STORE LEAD

Offering: Full-time

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00

Role Description:

A Serpentarium Store Lead serves as an inspiring leader who rallies the team to achieve its highest potential. You're a doer who's happy to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary along side your team. You're adaptable and flexible by nature, staying composed and collected as you balance the diverse needs of your team and the many animals under your care in the midst of constant change.

 

Being a Store Lead, you set a positive example by inspiring your team to deliver measurable results for the store's overall success. You lead your team in discovering customer needs, delivering proper education and solutions that build trust and loyalty. You coach your team on promoting Memberships, Feeder Cards, and Product Bundles to help customers spend wisely. You foster team building by creating excitement around the products, services, and promotions we offer. You stand behind and uphold the company's high standards by driving your staff to create customer experiences that enhance the overall Serpentarium experience.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • You’re comfortable selling as well as teaching and assisting your team members as needed.

  • You’re self-motivated and self-directed, and can adhere to tightly structured policies and guidelines.

  • You are adept at recommending all company offerings, such as Memberships, Feeder Cards, Product Bundles, etc.

  • You have strong communication skills that clearly imparts The Serpentarium's vision to rest of the team.

  • You have a proven ability to drive positive customer experiences and build loyalty, through measurable results.

  


 

SUPERVISOR

Offering: Full-time

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00

Locations:

  • CALIFORNIA - Lodi, Elk Grove, Roseville, Modesto

  • TEXAS - Richardson

 

Supervisors are hired from within the company, after learning the operations and meeting/exceeding all necessary expectations.

  


  

STORE MANAGER

Offering: Full-time

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $28.00

Am I too young to work at The Serpentarium?

You must be at least 18 years old to work with the many animals we have.

Sorry, but we do not offer any volunteer opportunities.

 

Am I too old to work at The Serpentarium?

You're never too old to pursue a rewarding career. Especially one that will make you happy and change your life by doing something you love. In fact, we're seeking more seasoned adults with a solid work history and life experience that can add universal value to the team.

 

Do I require a college degree to work at The Serpentarium?

Not at all. Though a degree may help you in other areas of life, we highly value (and prefer) people with genuine honesty, integrity, loyalty, reliability, and a solid work ethic over "book smarts" any day. Because those things can't be taught. We will teach you everything else you need to know on becoming a TRUE Reptile Specialist™.

 

Are tattoos, piercings, or colored hair allowed?

As long as they're not offensive, sure! We are a people company, and respect everybody's individuality. We encourage you to be yourself.
