CUSTOMER SERVICE / SALES
Offering: Part-time / Full-time
Pay Rate: $15.50 - $18.00
Locations: Lodi, Elk Grove, Roseville, Stockton, Modesto (Northern California)
Role Description
A CSR's enthusiasm is contagious. You love to share your excitement and want to make a positive difference in the world of reptile ownership by ensuring the optimal health of each customers' pet. This is done by actively engaging with customers, recommending proper products, and always providing honest and accurate information with each customer, every time.
The Serpentarium's Customer Service Reps are highly attentive to customers and understand how, why and when to recommend each product for each species we offer. After being hired, your first expected goal to accomplish - after basic training - is becoming a Reptile Specialist. This will be accomplished through on-the-job training as well as self-directed learning.
Key Qualifications
You're passionate about reptiles and eager to share that passion with others.
You're willing to learn and embrace the guidelines behind The Serpentarium's particular style of service.
You have strong people skills - you're approachable, a good listener, and empathetic to customer needs.
You are flexible with your schedule and understand that work hours are based on business needs.
You are able to work under pressure and keep up with customer demand during busy times.
You have no problem handling Snakes, Lizards, Rats, Mice or any type of insect of any size.
You have reliable transportation and a valid CA driver’s license.
You are capable of lifting up to 50 lbs without concern.

SHIFT LEAD
Offering: Full-time
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $19.00
Locations: Lodi, Elk Grove, Roseville, Stockton, Modesto (Northern California)
Role Description
As a Lead, you serve as an inspiring leader, rallying your team to achieve its highest potential. You're also a doer, happy to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary along side your staff. Adaptable and flexible by nature, you’re composed and collected as you balance the diverse needs of your team and the many animals under your care in the midst of constant change.
Being a Lead, you set a good example and inspire your team to deliver measurable results for the store's overall success. You lead a sales force that discovers customer's needs and delivers solutions that builds trust. Your team helps maintain customers' trust through proper education and support. The staff you coach teaches customers how to get the most for their pets by offering our Membership program, etc. In addition to team building, you create excitement around products, services and promotions. You're responsible for upholding high standards regarding communication and confidentiality. By driving your staff to create customer experiences that enhance the overall Serpentarium experience, you help enrich customers' lives and build loyalty.
Key Qualifications
You’re comfortable selling as well as teaching, helping your team members out as needed.
You’re self-motivated and self-directed, and can adhere to tightly structured policies and guidelines.
You can be adept at recommending all of our offerings, such as Memberships, etc.
You have strong communication skills to clearly impart The Serpentarium vision to the team you oversee.
You have a proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that builds loyalty and deliver measurable results.
SUPERVISOR
Offering: Full-time
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00
Locations: Lodi, Elk Grove, Roseville, Stockton, Modesto (Northern California)
Supervisors are hired from within the company, after learning the operations, climbing the ranks and meeting/exceeding all necessary expectations.
STORE MANAGER
Offering: Full-time
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00

You must be at least 18 years old to work with the many large animals we have.
Sorry, but we do not offer any volunteer opportunities.
Am I too old to work at The Serpentarium?
You're never too old to pursue a rewarding career. Especially one that will make you happy and change your life by doing something you love. In fact, we're seeking more seasoned adults with a solid work history and life experience that can add universal value to the team.
Do I require a college degree to work at The Serpentarium?
Not at all. Though a degree may help you in other areas of life, we highly value (and prefer) people with genuine honesty, integrity, loyalty, reliability and a solid work ethic over "book smarts" any day. This stuff can't be taught. We will teach you everything else you need to know on becoming a TRUE Reptile Specialist™.
Are tattoos, piercings or colored hair allowed?
